I have a need for a good reference to the controls in cocoa, but I use Java, and the "Learning Cocoa" book seems to be geared towards Objective-C. Does it have enough Java in it to be worth my $25?

Thanks,

As far as I've seen, the book doesn't have any Java in it.

That said, you might want to pick it up anyway. The concepts are still very similar, and you can never know too many languages

I'd buy it (although I got mine for free, so maybe I'm biased). It's a good excercise to be able to translate between languages anyway, and the conventions in objC aren't that looney, although it looks kind of funny. If you have any questions about examples in the book, just post here and I'll do my best to answer them.

It's true, Objective-C and Java are incredibly similar in all but syntax ("it looks funny"). As for Cocoa, all the classes and method names are the same. Just try translating on the fly and see if it works.
All words are lies. Including these ones.
