Does anyone know if you can install JMF 2.1 on Mac OS X public beta? I've tried following the instructions as closely as possible, but I don't really have enough UNIX knowledge to figure everything out. The requirements mention PowerPC so I assumed I could follow the UNIX style instructions for installation. I've tried viewing the example Applets in both OmniWeb 4 and IE 5 but neither work.

Here's the link to the requirements. <http://java.sun.com/products/java-media/jmf/2.1/requirements.html> From there, you should be able to find the installers and sample applets.

Thx.

If you have the developer tools(which I'll assume you do) you *may* be able to run the applets.

Open YourHD/Developer/Applications/MRJAppletLauncher
open the appropriate .html page.

Other than that there's no way to view the applets. IE supposedly has some Beta Java implementation but I've not gotten it to work.

You may try running the example applications that come with JMF...
Either by starting a Project Builder project or by Command-Line.
