interbase is a really cool free/opensource database it's still a bit immature but looks promising...

anyway we are developing some stuff with it as backend and i was just wondering if it could compile for macosx PB, so I could have a monster development platform with apache/php and interbase installed...

this is all i found when looking quickly for it...:

is a better link to find the source code there is one for freebsd so it should be easy, but i'm clueless when talking compile etc..
