I've never programmed in C/C++ before, only java. I've liked java and want to start doing some Obj. C stuff for OS X. Is there a good beginners book for Obj C, one that explains from scratch, or would my best bet be learning C/C++, then taking on Obj C? And if I should learn C/C++ first, what's a good book for that?

Well, the only Obj-C reference I have seen so far is Apple's book on it, and that assumes knowledge of C (note that you do not need to know C++, Obj-C is a superset of C and does not use C++ in any way). There are plenty of books about on C, but since you are familiar with Java there might be one or two that cater to it from a Java programmer's perspective (I know there are some books which teach Java from a C programmer's perspective).

Search around the archives or this forum, search amazon, whatever. I'm sure you'll turn up something
