Has anyone managed to get Together (Whiteboard or Control Center) working on OS X 10.0?

When you first install and try and run it, it complains of missing parts to the JDK. Investigating I found that you can modify Together.sh to comment out rogue lines. http://forums.macnn.com/cgi-bin/Foru...ML/000053.html helped to some degree but I'm not sure I believe Apple's claim that the full JDK is installed (well at least not in the configuration that I'm use to).

Together starts up and displays the splash screen and then appears to be initialising. It then attempts to display a window but crashes with the following error message -

kCGSErrorCannotComplete : Cannot create context device
kCGSErrorFailure : Cannot initialize context RIPContext
kCGSErrorInvalidContext

Any ideas

B.

I had it working under the public beta, but subsequent builds (including retail 4k78) use a new UI for java and it doesn't work.

Have a look at www.togethercommunity.com for more info. I've not been there in a while so I don't know what's changed.

Togethersoft. I played with this a bit on a previous build. Actually I played with it for about a month. Could never get it working due to the lack of a rt.jar file. Which togethersoft relies upon heavily apparently. I was working with James Banks at togethersoft on this issue. We ran into a dead end on this issue. James notes:
"One of my colleagues called Apple yesterday (3/14/01) and they do not have full support for Java 2 integrated into OS X at this time. They are working with Sun to bring their java support up to Sun's Java 2 standards. My colleague called Sun and confirmed that this was the case."

Sorry all, at the moment it appears that this is not possible. From what I can tell the java support on the build I was using is exactly the same as on the current version. This is indeed to my dismay.

I'm more than willing to keep working on this issue with anyone that would like to. I'm sure James is more than willing to continue working on it as well with me. Though the only possible way to do this is to create some sort of hack to make Togethersoft run without the rt.jar file. This could be incredibly time consuming. I suppose it is potentially possible as Togethersoft has an Open API.

I'm interested in any progress that any of you have made with this. My e-mail is Macintosh_Only@hotmail.com.
