There are a couple of apps that I use to use with Public Beta that will not run under 4k78. For some like the HTML editor they are the only one of it's kind. There's also the Music Player. I know that it was replaced with iTunes. But is was just so cool looking and easy to use with just one function, playing cd's & mp3s. My question is, can these programs by tweeked to run under 4k78? Is there anything that can be done to make then run?

open a console window (under "utils").
you may find that the apps that ran under PB require(d) a bunch
of frameworks that were renamed/deleted in 4K78.

YOu can construct a bunch of symbolic links from /System/Library/Frameworks back to the CD and then try again.

The console should tell you.

I opened the console and tried to run Music Player.
The program loads it's icon in the doc k and just as quickly unloads it. I looked at the console but I saw no change in window. It's like it didn't even see it.

Well, its early morning and I'm doing this remotely but you might want to
also try inserting the PB CD, opening a terminal, entering (yes, one looooong line)

setenv DYLD_FRAMEWORK_PATH /Volumes/Mac\ OS\ X\ Install\
+CD/System/Library/Frameworks:/Volumes/Mac\ OS\ X\ Install\
+CD/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/:/System/Library/Frameworks:/System/Library
+/PrivateFrameworks

and then trying to "open" the app using the open command like:
"open /Applications/MusicPlayer.app"

Whoa, that's one huge command string.
And I entered it exactly like I should have.
However, it didn't seem to do anything.
And the MusicPlayer is still not loading.

Any ideas?

Apple has made multiple changes to the frameworks which has caused code to break in certain circumstances. It might be impossible to make it run. If you love it so much, just go back to the public beta
