I've been unable to find any information about whether or not the system's Application Support Folder gets its content overwritten in the case of an OS update.

I know that the user-level Application Support Folder doesn't get touched, but if I have my app dump loads of app-specific data in the system's App Support Folder, I want to make sure it stays put.

Anyone have any insight on this?

TIA,
MAury

As far as I know it is a safe place to put things. Some of my apps dump things there (anything that needs to be shared by multiple users such as high score lists in games) and there are many other important things there that have gone untouched for some time. For example, the stuffit engine is a cfm bundle that sits there. I have left it there probably since the public beta without any issues.

I think that it is the only place that all users have R/W access to that is supposed to be stable, long-term storage.

I hope you are talking about

Library -> Application Support

and not

System -> Application Support (which does not exist)
