If you use AudioGalaxy you'd know that their download system labels downloaded songs with this method (Artist - Title): "Children of Bodom - Follow the Reaper". Well, being a Mac user I like my MP3 player to be organized and have appropriate MP3 tags.

Would anyone be interested in writing a small program to read the file name and change the MP3 Tag accordingly? It'd be nice to have a batch option... Such as selecting a whole folder to do.

Thanks

Apparently so.

Alternatively, you can use MP3 Rage for batch MP3 renaming and ID3 naming, but it isn't free.

One thing to remember is that iTunes seems to have problems with a lot of tags. I had a bunch of MP-3's I'd tagged on a windows machine and was sharing. On the Mac iTunes wouldn't display the song information properly. I tried a couple of batch tag manipulation programs but half of them still didn't work properly. I suspect that this is because iTunes only works with older tags. Hopefully the next version will fix this.

Looks to me like you should give some positive Versiontracker feedback if it worked for you, TheMan. When I looked, there were several 1-star grumpy-face reviews.

Check the VersionTracker page again . I most definitely gave Audiferous a nice review and 4 stars.
