Hello all,

Does anyone know where the apache source path is located? I need to install EmbPerl and it's asking for the apache source path. I searched for it but could not find it anywhere.

I'd imagine it's where you downloaded and decompressed the apache source code to. It sounds like you probably haven't done this, so you might like to try that as your first step.

You can get it from http://www.apache.org/

OK - maybe you can clear something up for me. When I installed Mac OS X I thought the Apache source would also be installed. I am able to run the apache web server just fine right now. So how does the apache source relate to how apache is run? Can the apache web server run without the source code?

In addition it looks like I will have to install a new version of Apache in order to get the source code installed, right?

thanks,

Tim

Source code is needed only if you want to re-build Apache (i.e. to get a newer version). It's like keeping the .sit file from a recent download of a program. You don't need it.

Anyways, this is a Usage and Support issue.
