Apparently they are going to put fine-grain SMP in OSX eventually:

Yet another reason to get a Dual. "Could push SMP performance to the next level" is what the bsdtoday article says.

I reccomend reading the bugreports on the darwin site, lots of info there even if you don't understand some of the bugs.

(the file is actually /etc/iftab , now)

It's still misspelled. This bug was written in Jan 1999.

I'm sure i don't understand most of the unix stuff going on there, but it's a good demonstration of the difference between us and M$ - our kernel is open to the public. We don't hide our laundry behind a wall of lawyers.

(what on earth does that mean? i think i'm on something today...)
