So where are gmake, gcc, g++ and all the other GNU build tools? I'm using CodeWarrior, but where I work we also have a gmake build that I would like to do locally on my MacOS X box.

And yes, I'm lazy, I don't want to get the source for things like gmake if I can help it, and compile it by hand.

I'm guessing at the very least all these tools are distributed with Darwin. Is Apple planning some "dev tools" package release that will have these and all the modified NeXT dev tools that were in DP4?

The answers to these questions are posted all over the net right now. But to save you some time:

Apple will release the developer tools for download in October. All ADC members (including Online, which is free) can download the tools.

Until then, you can copy some of the UNIX tools from Darwin.
