Has anyone tried compiling Bochs, the open-source x86 emulator, for OS X? If it works, it might be a nice free alternative to VPC.

If I had the hard drive space for the developer software, I'd try running it myself. But I thought maybe someone out there might have some fun seeing if it works easily. Apparently it runs on other *BSDs.
