Are developers receiving the copy of OSX showed at MWSF?

I'm supposed to be a developer. At least I'm developing code for the Mac and I paid Apple a developer fee ;^) As of this time I haven't heard anything from Apple about developers getting a newer version of OSX before the March ship date. When PB came out I didn't hear anything from Apple either. I tried to call them in advance of the release and didn't get a 'phone or E-mail reply before the release date so I ordered a copy of PB only to find, after the release, that "developers" would get a free copy. The copy I paid for arrived before the copy sent to me as a "developer".
I'm sure this hurt Apple since quite a few developers had to scramble to fix things which worked with DR4 but not with PB. It would have been nice to have got to test on the bete before it hit the streets.
It would be nice to get hold of a "golden master" or something next month to give us a month of testing and fixes before the new OS hits the stores. Given Apple's record so far this is probably not going to happen.

The word on the Carbon developer mail-list is that there is unlikely to be a developer release pre-GM.
The closest thing that exists is the 4K17 "Cheetah" build that was demonstrated in the MWSF keynote and installed on machines on the expo floor.
4K17 is floating around the pirate network and is not too hard to get your hands on. I will not say more as the moderator will cut my ***** off.
I think it very ironic that the pirates are getting to play with something that developers could sorely use.
(It is always possible, though improbable, that it was leaked from Apple to find its way into developers' hands - a very inefficient method of distribution to be sure.)

well actually developers won't find the pirated 4K17 very useful, since there are no developer tools with it, apparantly - and the PB ones don't install.

Quite correct. I just posted the following OT reply in another forum, I'll repost here since it is on-topic:
The 4K17 build you have is not a developer release - it is a pirated copy of an installer intended only for Apple supervised demonstration machines at MWSF.
As such, it is missing a few things including tar itself. The November developer tools such as ProjectBuilder and InterfaceBuilder will not run as there are version checks in place.
If you are a developer, use Mac OS X Public Beta (International) build 2E14.
If you are a pirate, enjoy your booty.
(Just beware, Apple has your IP address. Steve has studied jujitsu, and his pal Larry thinks he's a samurai. Sleep well!)
I guess 4K17 could be of some use for testing Carbonized apps against?
