Hi, whenever I transfer over *.tar.gz files to OSX retail from any other unix box(like linux or OpenBSD), when I try to decompress them with gnutar -zxvf or tar -zxvf or gunzip -d, etc I get the error "invalid header, starting valid header search". I also tried using stuffit expander and I got io errors. I use ftp to transfer files and I tried many different files. I can untar if I download directly from the internet though. Can someone please explain how I can untar properly so I don't have to redownload many apps over a 56k line? Thank you in advance.
