I installed the original OS X 10.0 and Developer
Tools, and have since upgraded to 10.1.2. Is
there a separate process for upgrading the
Developer Tools different from using the Updates
in the Preferences Panel?

I ask because I recently tried to compile xboard.
When I entered the configure command, I got the
message;
checking for gcc... no
checking for cc... cc
checking whether the C compiler (cc ) works... no
configure: error: installation or configuration problem: C compiler cannot create executables.

Any help would be appreciated.

The dev tools are available as a download from Apple. Go to connect.apple.com and get a free account. Then log in to the developer site and start downloading. Happy coding!

yes. You need to d/l the newest dev tools from Apple.

They made significant changes from 10.0 to 10.1 that makes the
10.0 devtools incompatible w/ 10.1
