I use cmd-h a lot to hide apps but I almost never use the minus window widget or the window bar double-click to minimize windows to the dock (to slow for my taste and most of the time I don't want to hide just one window but all windows of a certain app).

Recently I was clicking around a lot in a browser window and thought it would be nice if I wouldn't have to leave the mouse and go to the keyboard just to hide an app's windows. Why not just hack the minus window widget or the window bar double-click to function like cmd-h. I know that I could stay with the mouse, go up to the app menu and select hide but this takes much longer than just double-clicking a window bar or clicking a widow-widget.

Has anybody implemented such a hack yet, is there an app around that does that kind of stuff?

I think WindowShadeX can be customized to do this. You can grab this "haxie" from Unsanity.

You can always hide it from the Application menu without going to the keyboard...

Honestly, I'd like it if I could hide an app from the right-click menu in the Dock.
The low-end Mac Pro is the most overpriced Mac since the IIvx
