Is there anyway to install the JVM and/or JDK 1.4 on OSX 10.1.3?

Any help is very appreciated!

Simple answer: No.

Sun has just released 1.4 and it will be some time before Apple releases they JVM for it. There are some rumblings that it will be released at WWDC in may, but nothing substantiated.

From what I can see there are some nice new things in the new release, but nothing that I can't wait for.

My company develops Java software for the PC, and we're moving to 1.4 soon. If the Mac can't keep up, it'll lose out.

On the apple-java dev list, its been said that the apple Java team HOPES to have a early release of the JDK 1.4 for OSX out sometime around WWDC. This is no promise. They're promising *nothing*. Only a possibility. I'm repeating myself because of the way people in this forums always seem to
somehow imagine that apple's promising stuff when they never did.

If you need it before then. Well you can hope and pray, but I'd probably look for other solutions. Sorry it aint what you want to hear.
