How can I set up an applescript so that when I double click it, it opens up the terminal, then telnets to a pre-set address. I've never done anything in AppleScript before, so sorry if this is a very simple question.

Well, I figured out how to make the terminal telnet with an applescript, but I have another question. How do I compile the script so that I can put the file on the desktop, double click it, and have it run? I don't want to have to use the script runner. Can anyone help me out with this one??? Thanks

Assuming you're using the Script Editor to write your script, you can simply save the script an as application. Check the options under 'Save As...' and choose Application as the file format.
