Ok, so I've only got 10.0.4, but considering Appleworks can open MS Word 2000 docs, and it can print/preview to .pdf, is there a way to automate this using applescript so I can drag and drop about 300 word docs onto a script icon and have the magic happen?

I tried this in 9.2.1 using Maclinkplus and it works, if I open each document first and set the page setup formatting while using print to pdf. So, no good. Page setup for every one of the 300 files? Ouch.

Unix solutions welcome too.
I'm cli comfy.
