Free ADC members who were too cheap to pay for the full up-to-date package (like me) will be happy to know they can get back to work. The Developer Tools are online under: Download Software --> What's New

Have fun!

Just go to www.apple.com and click on developer. Sign in (or register if you aren't a member) and... click on "download" a thousand times and get denied access 999 times. The server appears to be a bit overloaded right now (or something).

Is anyone else getting insanely slow download speeds? Like 10 bytes/second?

Ugh... only 5000 hours left.

I got decent speeds (65 K/s, which is about my max) -- if you can't get good speeds you might want to try at less busy times (late at night) or try one of the international servers. I hear the Japan one is really fast.

Okay, stupid newbie question

I went for the segmented option and downloaded the 19 files.

Now what. I thought that double clicking on the first one would get the Installer to mount all the segments, but that didn't happen.

Do I need to rejoin these to one mongo file? If so, how?

I think you have to shift-select all the files before double clicking. There might also be a preference to set in Expander to get it to work.

As for downloads, I downloaded from the US to the UK, as the Europe server was something like 10 times slower ! I was gettin 100K + from the US.
