Has anyone had luck getting the BSD version of nmap (www.insecure.org) runningunder OS/X??? I'd be interested in learning how to make it happen. Thx in advance.

I can't remember where I got mine, but http://www.macsecurity.org/resources/nmap
has instructions on patching the source. Should work just fine.
