Suppose I have this application package (XTelevision) that needs a kext to be launched so that it will function properly. To load the kext though I need to have root permissions. How do I go about loading the kext and giving root and s+u permissions as an admin? (I've tried using the sudo thing, with several variations / no go). Btw, I'm on 10.1.5

Hmm? Sudo doesn't work? Of course it does, just "sudo kextload /path/to/kext" and then type your password... Unless of course you mean you want to do this programmatically... In which case, how are you installing it? If you use a .pkg, you can have a post_install script which loads it and does a mkextcache.
