Hello,

I am a beginner to mac os x development. I have started to write some cocoa and carbon programs. I am really looking for help and pointers to start the development for supporting one of the indian language in mac os. I need this for our work since there are so many documents which we need to store.

I need to create a new keyboard layout for one of the Indian Scripts. What steps do I need to take to write such a program. This keyboard layout will be used by the user to type in the language using wordprocessor or pagemaker or any other document publishing system.

I have different fonts for this language already installed on my mac machine. Now what do I need to do in order to enable the user to start typing in that language. I was reading about input method but I am lost as to where to start.

I am really in need of help. I would appreciate if anyone could direct me and give me your expert advice.

Thanks in advance.
Ram Akella
