Can anyone tell me whether the Perl interpreter is one of the "standard" utilities installed with OS X? I have the developer tools installed and I don't remember whether Perl was already in place before Dev. Tools installation.

Well...since PERL is a non-developer language...I would think so. [ducks to avoid flying Camel books] <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

Actually, I have no idea...I just couldn't resist posting tho
signatures are a waste of bandwidth
especially ones with political tripe in them.

Yes, it's in the Essentials package (since it's needed for quite a few scripts, like the ones included in Apple's updater packages).

I think it would be hard for them to exclude it, since it's more part of Unix than the Mac.
