I am a 100% Apple user and I will always be.

However, in windows 95 or 98 you have keyboard shortcuts. (Eg. to open the file at the top of the app you press Cntrl E and then ... WHATEVER ...)

So is there an addition to the interface so I can open the FILE at the top of the screen on the keyboard (even navigation on the cursor keys would be good.)

Do you think this can be conpiled in REALbasic??

THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION

Not sense make does.

file at the top of the app? What the heck are you on about?

oh. i think what you mean is navigating the menus by using the keyboard? I personally find that really lame. menus are for mice!

the file? you mean the FILE _MENU_

OS X has keyboard shortcuts. you can select various menuitems by pressing cmd-blah (I notice command is now officially referred to as Apple, I suppose it's better than splodge). For example cmd-q (apple-q) will quit the frontmost app.

if i understood what you want to do, then no, this can't be accomplished in any programming language without modifying apple source which isn't public.

I actually think the ability to operate the UI with just the keyboard is a very good idea. It's unfortunate that Apple didn't take advantage of the code churning happening for the OS X transition to implement this sort of thing.

It doesn't interfere with the standard mode of usage, but also allows power users to speed through chores without having to move between the mouse and the keyboard. I'd vote for it. Why not?

I believe you could actually implement this sort of thing for your own app, if you were so inspired. It would take a bit of work, but...

I'd suggest filing a bug requesting this feature. Heck, I might do that myself...

Oh, in REALbasic? I have no clue. I don't know how much it hides from you
or how it works at all. In Carbon you could probably figure out a way to do it.
