I've posted a question in the usage/support forum, but thought I may have better luck with a developer.

I'm attempting to connect to my OSX server via the VNC server, and using a remote client. The issue I have is as follows:

The server is set with the energy saver control panel to only sleep the display. Because its a server I leave the HD and CPU on at all times.

The problem arises when I attempt to connect via a VNC client, the display is black and no commands via the client 'wake' the display. When I'm in front of the actual machine, I can tap a key and connect with no problems.

My quest is for a solution to waking the display remotely. One suggestion was to kill the finder and in restarting the finder perhaps it would 'wake.' But this didn't work. My next thought was if there were a finder applescript capable of accessing the energy control panel and forcing a 'wake' state.

I tried the VNCThing client and the VNCViewer3.33b2 client thinking perhaps the client was responsible for not sending the proper keyboard sequence. It seems the machine requires a physical keyboard press to wake the display.

Any suggestions?
