Based on some error reports, I have revised my Apache/MySQL/PHP4 installation instructions. I have also made available a virgin installation of the MacOS X version of Apache so you can reverse any "damage" done by your tinkering around.

The link for the guide is http://homepage.mac.com/LightyearDesign/MacOSX/

I'm still not 100% sure about the MySQL installation. Some folks have reported that it works while some have had problems. My advice is to install the binary posted my MrSonicBlue in another MacNN forum thread and then continue with the build process.

Step 5, you're trying to cp GuessOS modified to fit OS X to src/helpers. I suppose this GuessOS should be in the installation directory (coming from your OS X patch). Unfortunately no GuessOS file anywhere but the original one in src/helpers.
Any comment?

Actually it is there if you are using the Developer Tools Install CD.

I don't have the dev tools. I'm using Darwing dev tools. But this file is supposed to be in the install temp directory isn't it? Can anyone post it?

Apple's iTools has some problems with refreshing copies of files thaat have the same name. In this case, I added GuessOS to the apacheosxfix file and re-uploaded it but the iDisk system doesn't always serve the newest version. Rather than continue fighting this, I have posted the above link directly to the file in question.

Good luck...
