Any developer who is finds the idea of creating a dynamic desktop background within the Finder interesting, please check out this thread... The idea which is a few posts down, about trying to force the Finder to update the desktop image on a set interval, I feel like that one holds the most promise; then again, creating the currency converter is about as far as I've gotten with developing anything for OS X...
