I have an experimental MySQL package that should allow you to install MySQL on your system with a simple double click. It uses Apple's Installer/Package system. On my system, it yields a functional MySQL 3.23.24 installation after some simple configuration.

Email me if interested in testing it, but only if you have some experience with MySQL in the first place. I can't get good feedback from folks who don't know how to configure it.

OK. Here's the link to the site. I got a couple of favorable reports back saying that both the Apache-PHP4 package and the MySQL package work very well so I have decided to make it public.

Make sure to read the directions...

Everyone note that the MySQL package has the same problems as everyone else's. At the bottom of the directions he notes that it cannot be killed normally, as home-built versions do.

does anyone know if this these versions take advantage of a second g4 processor? I know the OS does, but do the Daemons multithread. Mysql seems significanly slower than my Dual Pent Pro 200 at the office...
