Hopefully someone here can answer this

QuickTime Player is capable of doing substantial editing of QuickTime movies if you've paid for QuickTime Pro...

Features such as adding image tracks, hrefs, building slide shows from images, etc.

Are any of these things possible from within an AppleScript Studio Application? If so, is QuickTime Pro still required?

Interface Builder seems to be pretty friendly relative to QuickTime, but what can I do with it?

Applescript Studio uses Cocoa's classes to display Quicktime movies, and those classes only support simple playback of movies, not editing. So, to do QT editing using Applescript Studio would require some Carbon coding to support the editing stuff.
