my IP is allocated to my by my university network, hence my localhost is at http://123.4.5.6/~myname/ (as an example).

However, when I disconnect from the network, I cannot access any of the sites in my local server.

Ive tried http://127.0.0.1/~myname/ and http://localhost/~myname/

but neither work. Do I have to fill in some dummy details in the network perferences?

cheers
Jon

You might get more replies in the correct forum. This is not an issue for OS X - Developer. Try OS X - UNIX or OS X - General Discussion.
