It's really the only recent AppleScript book I've encountered. All the others cover pre-Mac OS 9.x (!) versions of AppleScript. If you don't mind that, Danny Goodman's AppleScript Handbook (no link, but the ISBN is 0966551419 so it shouldn't be hard to find) is a good, if somewhat dated, introduction to AppleScript.
None of the current books (including the O'Reilly) include any discussion on AppleScript Studio.
Gods don't kill people - people with Gods kill people.
I learned it with AppleScript for Dummies, so that's the only book I read, and it was good, but O'Reilly books are excellent, so I would recommend that.
