Hi -
I recently got a new iBook with OSX preinstalled. After screwing around with it, I'm trying to get MySQL and PHP up and running. I downloaded the most recent versions, but I can't compile them (the ./configure script tells me that cc isn't installed). Is there a compiler included with OSX (cc or gcc), or can I find one on the web. Also, are there precompiled binaries of MySQL and PHP available on the web? Thanks.

You need to install the Deveopler Tools. They are on the Grayish CD that came with ur Mac.

I don't think that the macs that come with OS X preinstalled come with a developer tools CD. You will probably need to download the tools from Apple's developer web site.

The Developer Tools for Mac OS X 10.0, including Project Builder 1.0 and the other development/performance/UI tools, ship on a separate CD inside the Mac OS X box. Thus, everyone who buys Mac OS X also receives a free copy of the Developer Tools.
