Hi,

I am a student pre-majoring in Computer Science, and I have taken intro C/C++ courses. Turns out I did well in those classes and I really enjoy programming. I am very interested in programming in Java for Mac OS X, it'll be an opportunity to learn Java and OS X at the same time.

Could someone with experience in Mac programming give me some tips and advice on this subject?

Thanks,

Anthony Wu

The best way to get started is to get all the Java Cocoa tutorials from Apple that you can. Take a look around sitetheir developer page and you should be able to find some. Also look in "/Developer/Examples/Java" after you install the dev tools and you should find those of assistance.

The only problem you might encounter when looking for resources is that most OS X developers are using Obj-C for development because it is faster. Just be prepared to get answers to questions that you might have to roll over in your mind to get it in Java terms.

Good luck,
Jeff.
