I am creating an icon with photoshop. I just copied the file icon from an .icns file but with the results the shadow of the right corner won't be on top.

Is there somewhere a photoshop template or something like that?

edit: it is about this icon:

I'm not having any problem with shadow for document...

Be sure to spread the shadow around instead of little drop like on yours.

Oh, are you using any blending modes? If so, then that may be the reason the shadow disappeared underneath the dog ear. I made a new shadow instead of using the original one so that I won't lose any quality.

I believe his question is more of a graphical one. Perhaps you could upload your PSD file as a template for other users?

This is a graphical question

Apple didn't released default templates such as 16x16, 32x32 and 128x128 document files. (Apple uses different 16x16 document icons!!!)
I think this should happen because you can not make the shadow of the dog ear perfect if you have a layer over it.

Try making it with Thumbnail Pro : http://elwww.cc.purdue.edu/~mthole/thumbnail/

You can make an image of the size that shows up in a document icon, and then you let Thumbnail Pro make the dog-ear.
