Hi,

i am developing JAVA application for Mac OS X.
The About Box in my java application lies in the Help Menu of the applications Menu Bar.

But most of the applications which run on Mac OS X (for example Internet Explorer, project Builder etc) have their About Box in the Application Menu which is provided by the Mac.

So how can i put my About Box in that Menu. Please help.

thanx
Rachna

Look in the documentation under "Java 1.4.1 API Reference: Apple Extensions" for handling the preferences and the about box.

You can check the operating system using the System object.
folding@home is good for you.

Using Project Builder in OSX go and create a Java Swing Application project. Project Builder will then produce template code for your Java swing application. This Project builder template is a working example of cross platform, About Box, Preference, and Menu Items.

Look here for some pointers: http://www.whiningdog.net/Articles/M...ava/swingaway/

Do a web search for - Java mac os x "about box":

Like this Sun Java article:

http://developer.java.sun.com/develo...aLP/JavaToMac/

Also have a look at this article on a really good cross platform menu package.

Also look at the tech notes for Java from Apple - http://developer.apple.com/technotes...es/java-a.html
