I'm trying to gather the tools need to create an applet with a Swing GUI, and I'm not sure if Interface builder can be used for the GUI.

Not really... IB does not support Swing. Go download a demo of JBuilder from Borland. Also, I believe (actually almost sure) CodeWarrior provides Swing support under OS X.

Actually, I recommed NetBeans...it's free and works great!

Also, I am at JavaOne right now, and at one of the sessions that Apple had, someone asked this exact question and there answer was "we're considering it"...so don't hold your breath.
signatures are a waste of bandwidth
especially ones with political tripe in them.

Thanks. I have codewarrior but never really sat down and went through the volumes on docs to learn it and was hoping project builder would work.

Guess I have to sit down and learn CW in order to use swing.

Thanks for the responces.
