I recently bought an iMac, and installed OS X but I wasn't satisfied with the OS 9 Classic performance. I repartitioned my disk and installed OS 9 and OS X on seperate partitions.

My problem is that I cannot find the Developer Tools anymore, they were (probably) not installed. Is there a way to install them from the OS X cd, I don't seem to find them there.

Do you have 2 CDs? The developer's tools are on a grey CD with a white X, as opposed to the OS, which is on a white CD with an aqua X. I've seen a post in the last couple of days that says the Developer Tools can be gotten from a .dmg file, but I've searched my OS X partition and my OS X CD and don't see any disk image files for the tools.

You may only be able to get them back using the Software Restore CDs that came with the machine... tha was the case with my new iMac (only way to get iDVD back, too). Of course, you might find it easier to download them after you sign up (free!) at http://www.connect.apple.com

Just make sure that if you're not 18 that Apple doesn't find out about it.

I'm actually older than 18, and I've used the restoration CD's to install everything back, including the developer tools, but I have to reinstall Mac OS 9 on my previous Mac OS 9 partition. Eitherway thanks everyone.

Can't you just select your OS 9 system folder in Startup Disk?
