What is the most widely used browser on the Mac?

How do I develop a plug-in for IE or Netscape on Mac OSX?
Is there any doc on that subject?

Should I use Carbon or Core Foundation?
Should I use Code Warrior of Project Builder?

Thanx

OmniWeb is quite popular.

Presently Internet Explorer is the most widely used browser on the mac. With os X right around the corner, this could potentially change, but only time will tell.

As far as I'm concerned, there are *no* good browsers for the mac at present. Okay, that's a real sweeping, flamable statement so let me clarify.

Netscape 6 is way too slow and ugly to be an option. Mozilla is a lot better, but could still be faster and easier - the whole XML interface idea is a bad one.

Corporate politics aside, I personally just don't *like* the feel of Internet Explorer 5 - the engine or the interface - plus my OS X version has taken to crashing very regularly.

OmniWeb will be good, when it finally gets round to supporting CSS, JavaScript and everything else that is really essential in a modern browser.

iCab i've only quickly looked at, but it's a copycat browser - it doesn't appear to have any new ideas of its own.

At the moment, I'm still using Netscape 4 on OS 9.1 - but this isn't a long term solution because an increasing number of pages don't look right in it.

The same problems count for Windows browsers, except for one: Netcaptor. It's Windows only and uses the IE engine, but provides such useful features for professionals that it earns my vote.

Everybody who wants to help produce a good OS X browser go look at Q.BATi

Here, here! Let's not forget about Opera!
