Hi folks,

I hate to say it, but Apple's Cocoa documentation is very hard to understand for a beginner. Their explanation of how to populate an NSOutlineView widget leaves me scratching my head and the included OutlineView example that populates an NSOutlineView widget with the filesystem makes no sense to me! Does any kind soul out there have some simple array or dictionary-based NSOutlineView populator code they could send my way -- or does anyone know of any good examples on the Web?

Thanks so much -- I sure wish Apple would come out with some decent Cocoa tutorials!

The download link on this page is now broken - does anyone have this file or some useful source for working with NSOutlineView?

Try the OutlineView example in the /Developer/Examples folder.

It was good enough that I was able to learn from it...
