OK, not a programming question per se, but who out there is using Project Builder at 1024x768 resolution? Do you like it or yearn for larger screen resolution?

Basically, I'm trying to figure out if I should buy a new iMac or Power Mac. The screen size is my only concern. Bus speeds, video, etc. are not important for my needs as both are plenty fast enough for me.

Right now, I'm attempting to use Project Builder on my iBook 466 (800x600 res) and it's just not big enough.

Any comments?

I use Project Builder on my iBook 600 @ 1024x768 and have no problems whatsoever. It looks excellent and I'm able to be very productive with it!

It works well, but would always work better on a bigger screen.

1024 is fine on my machine. Just don't try running it at 640x480, or you'll be in trouble
All words are lies. Including these ones.

Though my desk machine has a freakin' huge (1920x1200) monitor, I still often do development on my iBook (1024x768) at home and on the road, and I haven't had any problem with it. Works just great, and even better if you get used to the keyboard shortcuts for collapsing PB's sliding panes (see the menus) and for swapping windows (Command-` and Command-~).

Given your signature, I'm guessing you are qualified to comment on Project/Interface builder.

Thanks! I'm gonna get the mid-range iMac.

I used to program on my iBook (1024x768), but it didn't feel well. Now I'm at 1280x1024+1024x768 on my b&w G3/300 and it's much better, even though the machine is slower.
I'm used to having three source views at once, and at 1024x768 the font would have to be much smaller for that.

Actually, the screen is the only reason I won't buy an iMac.
