I need to change my MAC address because my cable provider registers it and I'ts a pain to swap out two machines. I know that I can get a router, but thats a bummer too.

Does anyone know how to change the MAC address under X. I've been trying ifconfig but it doesn't seem to work. I know about all the bad things that can happen.
Any help would be appreciated
