This is urgent - i need answers now.
I'm writing for my company a piece of software that doesn't run on the Mac. I'm tempted to use an OS X / NeXT style columns view because, well, it's so good. It would be the perfect solution to my software UI.
My question is: would that be legal? Do Apple own any patents or whatever on that method of viewing? If we released and got paid money for a piece of non-Mac software with it (it's Java, so it would run, but our market isn't Mac users - or the general public) would they come and get us?
