hello, I created an applescript studio app.

It's an MP3 renamer, that uses iTunes. I know sounds boring. But give it a shot. I thought a lot about the UI, its pretty cool.

This is pretty much a pre-beta (in other words don't blame me if it mucks something up! , it should work fine though it only ever been run on my machine (the dev machine)

Please send comments, questions suggestions to iamnotmad@mac.com

download here: ** taken down, thanks to those of you who tested it out, and gave feedback **

please read the readme!
Thanks very much!

Hi, I found a little booboo, harmless, but keeps it from working with certain settings. So I took it down.

There were a few downloads at least, anyone that nabbed it care to comment on the UI, or offer any other input?

I'll post again later, when its back up.

Thanks.

I downloaded it and took a look.
The UI seemed logical to me - good job - but I didn't actually use the app to rename anything.
I think the "Choose" button might be better to the right of the blank which would seem more typical in my opinion, but its current placement wouldn't have impaired my use of the program.

Mind posting a shot of the app?

Thats a great app iamnotmad! I've used it to organise a few albums.

For the final version it would be great if:
* you could 5 or even 6 columns. this would be needed if I wanted to put "Artist Name - Album Name - Track Number - Track Name.mp3" into a folder "Artist Name - Album Name". Perhaps two buttons - 'more' and 'less' - could increase/decrease the number of columns. Or even just resizing from the bottom-right corner, with the pop-ups 'fixed' to the right side, and new columns would appear and disappear on the left as you rezied it.
* the root directory displayed ~/myMusicFolder instead of "/Volumes/HardDisk/Users/Me/myMusicFolder"

I think the choose button is in the logical place. The go button should be default.

Cheers

Thanks for the feedback. I think I am just going to clean it up a bit and release for a little wider exposure. then work on the next version.

I'd love more feedback or ideas.

Thanks!

Well I have had LOTS of downloads, and not much feedback. I guess that's good, I'm sure I would have heard if it did not work for someone.

The few who gave feedback was enough encouragement to continue the project for me. Thanks very much.

If any others who d/l'd it could reply or send me some feedback that would be great!

Hi! I'd LOVE to try it out, but can't find noo d/l link anywhere. I'm always interested in betas and try-outs since I am writing a cocoa app as well and love getting feedback from beta testers...
