Hi,

I remember having jikes as my default compiler at some point, but I can't remember how I got it to work.
If I just set the "JAVA_COMPILER" setting to "/usr/bin/jikes", it wouldn't compile, telling me for every source file that it doesn't know how to make it.

It's a shame this is not properly documented anywhere.

Can anyone help?

Check if you can run jikes on a file at all. If you cannot, you should set
the CLASS_PATH. The CLASS_PATH is not needed for simple java things using
javac which works it out itself.

I'm unfortunately in front of a stupid vaio, but search for this in the
discussion archive here. That's where I found it. Otherwise I can post it for you tonight (UK time).
