I went to the following web address and compiled and downloaded the progol50.tar.gz. When I used stuffit to expand the files, they got mangled. So I used gzip and tar to extract the files. I edited the make file to run cc instead od gcc. When I run make I get some warnings, but the compile portion runs fine. I cannot seem to bind. I later discovered that I am not the only one. Other people are having trouble bringing in the libs. Where is some better documentation on linking? How is OSX different?
Note:
I did this on the linux box, and my school UNIX account ..... both times everything ran fine.
