I was reading on java.sun.com about issues involving drag and drop and JTrees. Evidentally drag and drop didn't work with JTree's in some of the Java 2 beta releases. It's fixed now. However, Apple's Java 2 implementation still has this bug as I have not been able to get the DnD to work with JTree's, but it works fine on my Windows machine.

Does anyone have any information on this or know of a work around? I'd really like to do my development on OS X, but I can't without the DnD JTree.

in some readme style note on Java Apple clearly states that the Java DnD is not as well tested as their own mechanism.

If it were me, and it has been(sort of), I'd run tons of tests and report back to Apple on your findings.

We're all finding odd things and if we just work-around them at some later point someone else may have to struggle too.
