Does it matter where I create the folder to share or do I simply create a user and make that home-directory to a sharepoint? I didn't find anything about this in the Admin guide.

You can set any folder (at least of the common ones I've tried) to be a sharepoint using the server admin application. You select the set privilege option in the file sharing section, then navigate in the browser to the desired folder and set it to share. You have the option when sharing of setting the owner and group of the shared folder (and optionally all files below the share point). I find the choice of menu/option names for creating a share to be less than intuitive.

Cheers,

Thanks for the info. In OSX Server I always set up the shares directly under "/ " but after talking to a Linux-guy who told me it's common to use a users home-directory as a share so I started wondering if that would be better but since Linux is not OSX meby it doesn't matter :-)
