Hello everbody,
I wonder, if anybody here has tested the new MySQL Manager in Mac OS X Server 10.2? I have tried this simple GUI to install and start the MySQL Database. When the MySQL Manager is started, you have to enter the admin password to make any changes. In my understanding, the "Install"-Button is for installing the database, with the "Start"-Button you can start MySQL and there is also a checkbox, to start MySQL everytime you startup your server. Very nice, but for me it doesn't work…!!
When I click on "Install", the Button reverts to grey (inactiv), but it doesn't install the MySQL database. When I push the "Start"-Button, it stays with the name "Start" and doesn't change to "Stop"! Of course, you can install MySQL with just a few commands in the terminal, but why I need a GUI then?
Maybe somebody have tested this and can give me a hint, how I use the MySQL Manager to install and start MySQL. I'm sure, I make something wrong or simply forgot something?
Thanks in advance for any help.
P.S: I'm a registered ADC Select-Member and downloaded Mac OS X "Jaguar" Server 10.2 6C115 from the ADC Member Site.
