I downloaded my copy from Oracle a few days ago, and now just waiting for my copy of 10.2 to arrive on the truck. While it doesn't appear to be feature complete yet, I look forward to working with it very much.

Best regards,
Chris

Have you been able to get it running? I've heard from some users (some of them even experts) that they have problem to get this thing running. Or weren't there any problems?

I haven't gotten it running yet since I just got my copy of 10.2 (client) today. I'm going to try to get it going, but the docs lead me to believe it want to run on Server. I'll check it out soon.

hi,

in our company we have a linux box running an oracle application server. the client is a java enabled browser. i just works great on pcs.
but when i use the powermacs running jaguar the whole interface in ie (java applet) has about a two point smaler font.

see this link http://mail.nex9.com/screen.pdf

also the java environnement on imac g4 800 is about 2 times slower than on a pc intel pentium III 1,2 gigaherz.

thanx 4 tips, reco

I went through the entire install procedure yesterday, and it worked like a charm on Jaguar client. I was also nervous about the docs referencing Jaguar Server, but it would seem it's NOT required.

I cannot, however, get DBD::Oracle running on OS X. I'm a Perl guy and need it bad! :-)

I just installed it today on Jaguar client. The install went pretty smoothly and the directions were good. I didn't much care for it in the specified location called for in the instructions, so I put it in /usr/local where the other databases like MySQL and PostrgreSQL get installed. A couple of tweaks to the scripts, and life is good. Now I just need to add it to the startup scripts so the server starts on its own without needing to log in to do so.

Best regards,
Chris
